Biography

Geneviève Bouchard holds a PhD in Comparative Public Policy from McMaster University and a master’s degree in Political Science from Université Laval.

From 2001 to 2009, she served as Research Director at the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP).

In June 2011, she joined Université de Montréal as Director of the Dean’s Office at the Faculty of Medicine. She subsequently served as Director of International Affairs before being appointed Chief of Staff to the President (Rector) in 2020.

Her responsibilities were expanded in June 2026 when she was appointed Chief of Staff and Director of Public Affairs. In this role, she oversees the operations of the President’s Office, advises the President (Rector) on the University’s strategic priorities, and leads the University’s institutional communications, public affairs, and government relations.

Throughout her career, she has developed expertise in university governance, strategic communications, public affairs, and government relations.
