Biography
Chantal Pharand holds a doctorate in Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science. She joined the Faculty of Pharmacy at Université de Montréal in 1994. She was a researcher and clinical pharmacist specialising in cardiovascular pharmacotherapy at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal, where she established clinical services in the coronary unit in 1994 and founded the cardiovascular risk factor reduction clinic in 2006.
At the Faculty of Pharmacy, she served as academic vice-dean from 2006 to 2014 and dean from 2014 to 2015. She spearheaded the introduction of the undergraduate professional doctorate in pharmacy. From 2015 to 2025, Chantal Pharand was Deputy vice-rector for student and academic affairs. In that capacity, she set up a strategic student enrolment development program aimed at increasing access to university studies and academic success.
Mandate
As Deputy Senior Vice-Rector, Chantal Pharand is responsible for implementing and monitoring the university's strategic planning. She is also responsible for the strategic student enrolment development program, the CEPSUM sports centre and the Millénium Québecor program.
